Junior Senior - Rhythm Bandits

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

I've been playing this today. Castlevania is a 2D sidescrolling adventure game with RPG (role playing game) elements. It's a Japanese game that's been translated into English so the stories in this series are kind of weird and sometimes confusing.

The series dates back many years. I've been playing the DS games. They're similar to the old Super Nintendo games. I played the last two (and don't remember if I finished them) on the Nintendo DS and enjoyed them.

I prefer to play games to watching TV. If I get stuck I can look up a game guide on the web. I really love the Nintendo DS because it has so many great (and fun) games. This series are some of the best.

The official website is in Japanese so I don't know what it says. I do like the Gothic Horror art designs of these games. The main "baddie" is always Dracula.

Chiru

I don't know who sings this. I don't know what the title is. I can't get a real copy of this song anywhere so far. But it's the greatest music video of all time. No joke. You have to watch it multiple times. It will "move" you. If there was a heaven it would look like this.

The Belog Endorses...

The Belog is endorsing Obama for the 2008 Presidental Election. I know this won't come as a shock to the Belog's millions of readers but it's offical.

We believe that America will be a better country with Obama at the helm. We strongly believe in social programs to help Americans with education, health care, and science. Obama will make this country better and point us in the right direction. I am excited for the future under his presidency.

Samsung Omnia (i900) Unboxing

Left 4 Dead

Really looking forward to this game. This is by the creators of Half-Life 2 so it should be awesome. It's a zombie scenario (which I'm normally not into) but can't wait to play this. Too bad it's not coming out before Halloween.

Check out the screenshots here:

Maniac

WTF?

It must be hard to sell records these days. Check out these two videos if you can stomach them. They're nothing more than stripper shows or soft core porn. They're both getting older and it's yuckers. Yuck.

Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl

Who can forget this classic! I was so impressed with myself when I figured out how to play this song on the guitar way "back in the day".

"Why can't I find a woman, why can't I find a woman like that! And I've been lookin' in the mirror all the time. Wonderin' what she don't see in me. I've been funny. I've been cool with the lines... ain't that the way love is supposed to be (smashes mirror with guitar)."

Chipmunk Babies

Baby chipmunks are in my backyard. They're so cute. This summer there were three squirrel babies and two chipmunk babies (that I've seen).

There were also about fifty (yes, 50) birds within a 5 foot radius of me. It was like the movie The Birds. The older chipmunks were chasing them away but they'd come and go in the little group. It's so funny to see about 50 birds scatter into the bushes and then come back 30 seconds later.

Creep of the Week: Yaddle

Were you aware that there is a female from Yoda's species? This is super creepy and made me laugh for about 10 minutes straight.

This is a real picture of a "female" Yoda from the recent Star Wars movies. I guess she's on the Jedi Council (whatever that is). LOL. Creeepers.

Her name is Yaddle. I wonder if she lactates and if so if her milk is green. Yuckers! Can you imagine Yoda kissing this?

I bet Yoda was gay. All alone on Dagobah hiding away from the females like this.

Also, speaking of Yoda. This is really funny... and kinda cute.

Puppy Games 2008

The night of the Olympics Opening Ceremonies was one of the best nights in television. Not only were the Ceremonies mind blowing, Animal Planet now does a Puppy Games during the ceremony. So when the commercials are on or a boring country is on the Parade of Nations I was switching over to the Puppy Games 2008. It's all puppy's.

I couldn't find a YouTube video of the Puppy Games so I put up last year's Puppy Bowl. I watched this when Super Bowl commercials were on.

Puppies, puppies, puppies. There was the cutest little Boston Terrier on the Puppy Games 2008 this year.

Address Labels

Here's one (of two) of the address label sheets I made for you. Like I said, "They'll be a little different". Since I am an "art-teast", I am always exploring new ways to communicate my problems and view of the world visually to other less intelligent beings. It's amazing that my brain can even fit within my head as my brilliance is so prevalent.

Address labels are my canvas, ink-jet printers. expensive computer programs (and pictures found on the internet) and blue Kool-Aid is my paint.

I think they're pretty cool. "Just throwing that out there" and if you don't like them or appreciate my brilliance as an address label artist I'll have to find a different medium.

Wait till you see the second design? This is white and the other is black and trippy. A night and day theme, if you will.

I do color outside of the lines...

Click on the image to see it larger.

Olivia Newton-John - Physical (Solid Gold)1980

The lyrics are hilarious. I've never actually listened to them until now.

Panda Game

Check this out. I think this is a real game that's coming out soon. I think it's like Nintendogs but with Pandas. I don't know if I'll "actually" buy it, "if you will" but I sure want to see what it looks like when it comes to the U.S.

Look at that big furry cutie baby.

John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band - On the Dark Side

You've got to remember this one. I loved this song back in elementary school. Every time I hear it I've got to stop and listen. Love that sax solo.

Beauty of Graphic Novels

After being frustrated with a terrible time consuming book like "Twilight", I switched to reading a few comics or "graphic novels" as the comic cognoscenti call them.

Here are a few reasons why "graphic novels" are cool.
1) They're the perfect mix of book and movie
2) They only take a couple hours to read
3) They're nerdy and intelligent like books
4) They've got super cool art (in most cases)
5) They're entertaining and action oriented

The new Batman movie reminded me how much I love the Batman in comics. There are many thousands of GNs that are out there and most are available at the library for free! My brother got me two for my B-Day and I'm excited to read them. It's like a cool movie in a book that I can read anytime.

Pay no attention to the stigma of comics because you're missing out on some really great stories and fantastic art.

Crap Book

This is the book that I tried to finish this week. It's hugely popular and selling like hotcakes. People love this book. I think it's filled the void left by the Harry Potter books. I tried to read it. I tried really hard but in the end the trash got to eat it. I tried to make it my "summer read" but I failed. It's terrible and I have many other books to read.

I feel sorry that I didn't "get you" Twilight and I won't be a part of the hysteria your series is causing. I feel bad but I had to rip you up out of frustration of your corny dialog and silly plot. You used too many dumb cliches and you're dopey main character annoyed me so much I just had to rip you in half.

I think I'll just look up the plot on Wikipedia.

New Web Phone

I just ordered a web phone. I'm kinda nervous and excited. I'm paying $38 for my home phone. I'm going to get rid of that and get a web phone for only $20 more.

It'll be part of my "therapy" to get out of the house. Hopefully, I can feel more secure when I'm away from the house b/c I'll be able to do my email and TCB (take care of biz). I feel so trapped in the house. This way I can do some work anywhere and be available for emergencies. Every time I leave the house someone calls and I always get annoyed that I missed it.

The fun part will be figuring out how to do email and switch some things over to the phone that I get stuck doing at the house.

Michael Sembello - Maniac (Solid Gold)

God, I love The Solid Gold Dancers. Ooof. Why are there no "performance" music hit shows anymore? The artists from the 70s and early 80s made such great songs but they were ugly dudes. Music videos changed all that. I want some ugly guy music with Solid Gold dancers. There may be more Solid Gold posts in the future. Solid Gold!

7/21/2008

Matthew Wilder - Break My Stride (Solid Gold)

You've got to remember this song. It's one of my first musical memories. I remember hearing this in the record store on Lyndale Ave. As an added bonus why isn't a show like Solid Gold on anymore? I hope they put Solid Gold on the DVD. I still think the chicks are hot and sexy. I love these old musical performances. Ain't nobody gonna break-a-my stride ain't nobody gonna slow me down. Wise words by a musical genius!

7/19/2008

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - Tha Crossroads

Whoa! Do you remember this song? This was a huge hit back in the day. I think this is the second rap song that actually made me tear up. I remember thinking this was really interesting. It's a pretty "deep" song and I love it like I love that R. Kelly Jesus song. It's corny but there's something special about it. It's kinda deep and magical.

Cat Behavior : Animals Are Really Little Retarded Furry People

I looked up what I was trying to tell you on the phone. Here is the reason (below) that you were getting bitten and what to do about it and it totally makes sense. The most important thing I've learned in my life is that each and every animal is a LIVING BEING. They have eyes, legs, brains, ears, hands (of some sort), nose, teeth, feet, etc... A cat, a dog, a human and millions of other forms of life are are living beings like you and me. They're not just "animals" they're just different versions of you. Just think of a human and morph it into a dog in your head like a movie special effect. For example next time you look at a girl dog think of her as one of your human friends that got magically changed into a dog by a witch. Well, in my opinion, that dog is just a less brainy version of a person with hair and can bark instead of talk. It's a living being.

So when you say you hate cats it concerns me that you hate living beings. It's disconcerting. It's weird. God made all the animals... but they aren't just "animals"... they're little furry, meowing, tiny brained, living people-like beings. They have behaviors that you may not understand but they're trying to communicate to us dumb humans what they want us to do... it's just that we don't see them as beings we see them as dumb little creatures... but they're not. They just live by different rules. Could you be expected to live like a cat? Why would you expect a cat to live like you? or a dog? I'm sure you're not even reading this... but do you get my point? Every living thing on this planet is just a different version of you. Meow!

"Don't Pet Me Anymore" Aggression
It is not uncommon for cats to "suddenly" bite while being petted. This behavior is not well understood, even by experienced animal behaviorists. For whatever reason, petting which the cat was previously enjoying becomes unpleasant. The bite is the cat's signal that she has had enough petting. Cats vary in how much they will tolerate being petted or held. People often describe cats as biting "out of the blue" or without warning; however, their signals may be very subtle and hard to detect. You should become more aware of your cat's body postures and cease petting or stop any other kind of interaction before the bite occurs. Signals to be aware of include:
* Restlessness
* Tail twitching
* Ears turning back or flicking back and forth
* Turning or moving her head toward your hand
When you observe any of these signals, it is time to stop petting the cat immediately and allow him just to sit quietly on your lap or go his own way, whichever he prefers. Any kind of physical punishment almost always makes the problem worse, as it makes the cat more likely to bite either because he is fearful and/or because petting becomes even more unpleasant if it is associated with punishment.
If you want to try to prolong the amount of time your cat will tolerate petting, use some food rewards. Before your cat shows any of the behaviors described above, offer her a special tidbit of food, such as a tiny piece of tuna or boiled chicken. At the same time, decrease the intensity of your petting. Continue to lightly pet your cat for a short time period while offering him tidbits. In this way, petting will come to be associated with more pleasant things, and may help her to enjoy petting for longer time periods. Each time you work with your cat, try to pet her for slightly longer time periods using the food. If you stop petting her when she is aggressive, her behavior has succeeded. She has learned that her aggressive behavior will get her what she wants—the petting stops. Thus, it is important to watch carefully for signals she is growing tired of petting.

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile

Is Jimi Hendrix the best guitar player ever? Yes. Why should you care? Because he's a genius. It's not because he's a wild rock guitarist though. Yes, he has blistering solos, sick as f#*k riffs and can play behind his back and with his teeth but "teeth playing guitarist make not one great" as Yoda would say. It's because of his "slow jams" that he's the whole package. In his short life he made three phenomenal five star albums. This is a great performance.

Back in the Day: Jeru the Damaja

I loved this dude "back in the day". This was one of the greatest rap records ever. I could probably still "rap" along with this song. I'm sure you'll hate it but I loved this dude's first and second album so much I probably wore my cassettes out in my car. He "drops science" on these other M.C. fools (sarcasm). Does this sound just awful to you? I love the beats, his lyrics, and his "flow". He's must be referring to the bomb at the World Trade Center b/c this was way before 9/11. Anyway, just sharing my halcyon days and memories on the Shlog.

Back in the Day: Wa Wa Nee - Sugar Free

This is truly the greatest find ever on YouTube. I've been searching for this for years. It's not even available on iTunes or to download. There is no chance that you remember this song, do you? I LOVE THIS SONG. It's so jammin'. Don't pay attention to the cheesy video because I only knew the song not how they looked. It's so funky! If there's a heaven this'll be playing when I get there. He's playing a KEYTAR! Oh my god, check out his dance steps. Oh, my love and me. Oh, were sugar free, No desire to be pumpin' up and breakin' down. I even knew it was an Anti-Drug song back in then too! Drugs! Boo!

Eddie Murphy

How brilliant and funny is Eddie Murphy? I realized after watching a biography that he's made a ton of classic movies. He's probably acted in more than forty of fifty movies. I've actually missed some of his movies. In the past couple years I've watched Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hrs., Coming to America, and saw some of Bowfinger on cable the other night. He's so great. Even his bad movies aren't that bad. Norbit isn't the best movie but there are some funny bits in it. "How You Doin'"

I've never seen Vampire in Brooklyn, Holy Man, The Distinguished Gentleman or Dreamgirls but I've seen everything else he's done multiple times. Boomerang, The Golden Child, Delirious, Beverly Hills Cop, and his SNL skits were the best. I love Mulan, Dr. Dolittle, The Nutty Prof. and Coming to America. I've realized that I'm a huge Eddie Murphy fan and I wasn't even aware of it. When we were kids Shawn and I would go downtown by ourselves to see his latest movies. I saw Raw, Coming to America, BHC II, The Golden Child, Another 48 hrs and Boomerang all in the theaters.

I even like his bad movies like Pluto Nash, Showtime, Daddy Day Care, and Life. I've decided that I should see the ones that I haven't seen on DVD soon. I should have an Eddie DVD party and get Movie Theater microwave popcorn and Welch's grape soda and some Laffy Taffy... and maybe some, "lemonade, that cool refreshing drink".

Ellen rocking out with Guitar Hero

I cannot express how fun this game is. It's probably the most fun I've had playing video games, ever. Even Ellen knows the deal! I thought you may have a little more respect for Guitar Hero after seeing someone you like schtuping it. It's really fun. There is also a game called ROCK BAND that has guitar, vocals (with a mic), and drums (with a little drum set). I heard this woman in the book store telling a girl that video games rot your brain and make you stupid. The little girl had said she wanted a Nintendo DS. I was going to stop the lady and tell her about all the studies of how video games make you smarter and kids less violent but I figured she was crazy. I should have called Child Protection. Can you imagine being a kid and not being able to play video games? That's child abuse! There are so many games that would be considered Art just as novels or movies.

The Guitar Hero game for the DS has the Los Lonely Boys' Heaven on it.

Did you watch a little of the first one? Now, this kid can play. This is what the game is really like on Hard or Expert. Yes, I finished the game. I'm a Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero in the hizouse. Booya!

Richard Simmons - Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Stand Up Comedy

Did you happen to have a few beers when you went and saw Jamie Kennedy? I was watching TV last night and a Dave Chappelle Stand Up special was on Comedy Central. I couldn't stop laughing. It was crazy. I mean Scary Movie laughing. Curb Your Enthusiasm eating hot food whilst trying to get the woman in bed laughing. Borat naked wrestling scene laughing. I was laughing so hard that I was scared I was going to pass out. I think having a few rum and cherry 7ups helped. I couldn't stop laughing. It was a holiday and I was really annoyed  (which I often am on holidays) but I had such a good time watching Dave Chappelle do stand up.

By the way, I'd strongly suggest Chappelle's Show Season 2. It's really outrageous! It is one of the best comedy shows EVER! It's a sketch show and NOT stand up... but his stand up was really fantastic too! It's really funny! Just fun and crazy and wild! It's a total classic that you should see at some point. It's up there with Curb and Ali G. It's so fun to watch, it's super-funny and brizzzzzzzillllliantt! Genius!

New Baby Bunny

There's another cutie in the yard this summer. A teeny weenie baby bunny. I saw a tiny little bunny scamper twice when I was in the backyard this afternoon. Lil' cutie.

I also got to see three of the voles who I am really starting to like. Maybe I should name them? Two of the little baby squirrels are getting to be little Jr. High age with longer bodies and skinny feetsies. There are now two confirmed chipmunks that fight over bird seed. One pair of cardinals up in the huge tree and I've seen on huge blue jay... and tons of those little chirpy chickadee thingamajigs.

I think I'm going to get a bug identification book because there are tons of different insects that I don't know that names of.

Shonen Knife - I Wanna Eat Choco Bars

Someone must have given me a Shonen Knife cassette when I was in middle school because I totally remember loving this song and the album it was on. I don't know why I know this but I used to love it and listen to it on my walkman. I think I knew they were from Japan but it's interesting now because of that weird Japanese accent. They weren't at all sexy and they were horrible musicians... but for some reason I know this album. We used to get lots of free cassettes from these guys at Tatters (and tons of promo posters, etc...) because it was under GHQ where my dad worked when we were kids. Ah, the good ol' days. I still can't remember how I know this song... but I love it. Who knew songs could be about how great Choco bars are? No joke. It blew my mind at the time. I didn't know you could write songs about candy.

John Mellencamp - Authority Song - Rock Hall of Fame

One of my favorite songs of all time! I remember being a kid and rockin' out to it. Back then my favorite line was "Growin' up leads to growin' old and then to dyin'... and dyin' to me don't sound like all that much fun". It still is one of my all time favorite lines from a song. I saw this performance on VH1's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Who knew that he still had it. His son reminds me of Jonah... yes, his hair is that long. Love this song... and I love the 70s, 80s, 90s shows on VH1 too! Who knew 25 years later VH1 would appeal to me so much... it's almost as good as Animal Planet and the Food Channel.

Backyard Animals: Meadow Vole

Hello lil' furry cutie baby. I can add a 'nimal to my backyard creature habitat. Introducing, the Meadow Vole. I did have one of these little guys in my house last year (which I thought was a hamster because it just didn't look like a mouse).

I put out a couple pieces of bread and sat down to read the paper. I kept hearing weird little sounds coming out of the bottom of the garage. There were two little voles trying to pull a giant half piece of bread under the garage. They're so cute and tiny like a mouse.

They're look like a cross between a mouse and a mole. They're eyes are really small and they must live in darkness and have poor eyesight.

The squirrel babies are getting bigger and there seems to be only one chipmunk this year. I hope there are more chippies soon. There were six in the yard last year. There are also two bunnies. I'm going to try and identify some of the bugs too.

New Hit: I Kissed A Girl

Here's the hot tune of the day flying up the charts. It kind of grosses me out. I just picture a couple of yucky girls kissing. Yuck... and like girls. There's just something disturbing about the song (and not the lesbianism). The kissing of a girl with chapstick grosses me out more than two girls kissing. Chapstick be nasty. Yuck.

Check out the new MINI Wienermobile. I thought this was really cool! What would summer be without a hot dog?

Father's Day

Be sure to do something extraordinary for your dad and brother this FD. I just saw the rest of that TAL (This American Life) episode about guy's named John Smith. I'm sure it was a Father's Day episode because it was all about guy's with the name John Smith and their lives. The John Smith's were of all different ages and backgrounds. From old to young, they were all really good stories... and it was an hour long (as apposed to the regular half-hour).

That is such a great show. It always focuses on something that's really simple but it comes across as being amazing. They explored all these male lives of different ages and it's something I've never seen done as beautifully. That show is absolutely breathtaking and always makes me cry like the little John Smith baby that was the youngest featured John Smith.

Also, I hope you get to see Kevin Garnett on HDTV for his last game (hopefully) on Father's Day. Are you at K's this weekend? While I was watching the game yesterday it dawned on me that those guys are Superheroes. They're so athletic, tall, and super talented. It really comes across on an HDTV. It's like being there on the court. Those guys are amazing and I hope they win soon. I kind of hope they win at home. Home crowds are always more emotional... but Father's Day Finals win would probably mean a lot to those guys and their dads on the Celtics. Go KG, Go Celtics! Go This American Life! Go new babies in our families!

Game I Want, Now: Afrika

Check out this game! Looks like it'll be super-fun and educational. I can't wait to play it if it gets decent reviews. I don't think it'll be out for a while but I'm waiting for it. Since I probably will never be able to go to Africa here's a way to get there for only $50 and pretend you're a wildlife photographer. There's meerkats in it too! Hopefully they'll have baby animals too. I think it looks awesome, possum.

6/06/2008

Awesome Pawsome

Another doc I saw the other night was Awesome Pawsome. It was about four tiger cubs growing up in a tiger park. I am just so amazed by the other beings on this planet. They're like ALIENS on earth. We grow up wondering if life exists on other planets but there are millions (billions) of life forms here on earth that are right under our nose. We go to movies to see special effects aliens but none of them can compare to real life "other" beings that exist on this earth. Beautiful! There is no other word (even though that sounds gay). Look at how beautiful these cubs (and their mom and dad) are. I love seeing cubs play with a dog.

Jessica the Hippo

I saw a documentary about Jessica the Hippo late last night. She is so cute! She eats like 40 pounds of sweet potatoes a day. I kinda wish I could live on a wildlife refuge in the middle of nowhere. Maybe get internet and TV via satellite and go to the same store for food. I always think about the other rural parts of the country where life is way more laid back and sometimes I think I'd like to live there and have a bunch of farm cats, dogs, and chickens.

Shlog 101: How To Search

Wanna find an old post on the Shlog? Just use the handy SEARCH engine on the top left of the page. Just type in a word and it'll pull all the posts with that word. Cool. Now you can look up old videos that you want to see again.

Also, be sure to click "NEXT BLOG" on the top of the page to see other blogs... which are always interesting. But please don't FLAG the SHLOG unless it contains something offensive to you.

Speaking of offensive. Check out the outrageous SOUTH PARK DVD MOVIE IMAGINATIONLAND. They've got to be some of the most brilliant comedians, ever! I love his voices too!

Freak of the Week - Dog Grooming Magazine

Oh... my... GAWD(gay voice)! It's 2:00 in the morning and I can't stop laughing. I am almost crying. There is a reality show on Animal Planet called Groomer Has It and it's so terrible that I can't stop watching it. It's a Survivor type show with DOG GROOMERS! Professional Dog Groomers. Talk about Weird Als! It's bizarro world. They have "challenges" and this week they had to groom for a chance on the cover of this magazine. Check out this link and scroll down. Are you laughing (or crying) at what they do to these dogs?

The dog is a basketball. LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL. There is a dog that is a BISON... YES, A BISON standing next to a woman dressed as an Indian... no shit! I AM dying from laughing... an f'n Bison!!!! Which is your favorite. I have to stop looking. ONE IS A FLIPPIN' ROOSTER!!! WHAT THE F? I'm going to have nightmares. LOL, LOL, LOL. I'm loosin' it. I haven't seen anything this bizarre, ever!! LOL, LOL!

Al Green

Al Green - Simply Beautiful

Since Al's on your radar this week... He's one of those guy's that's born with a voice. I saw him at the Orpheum many years ago. He wasn't even trying. It just comes out of him. I was really into him back in the day. I used to buy old soul records and he's one of the guys that made great '70s records. I love the '70s and he's got a bunch of classic five star albums.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I saw Indy tonight. I'm really pumped about it. I nerdily read the novelization last week because I didn't think I'd see it until DVD. I really liked it. A bunch of nerds on the internet have been complaining about the corny dialog or impossible situations but isn't that what all Indy movies are? I would think your Dad likes Indy movies? Without giving away too much I thought it was right down my ally. He's in the 1950s and Shia LeBouf is really good in it. The end almost made me cry and got me excited enough to write about it. I thought I was going to hate it but I totally didn't.

I really like Shia Lebouf. He's a Marlon Brando '50s dude with a greaser haircut, leather jacket, motorcycle, and switchblade... it's enough to make you groan but I didn't. I loved it. Mayan temples, secrets, clues, the directing, the costumes, the sets, cinematography, effects, and the '50s era stuff... Crystal Skulls is in the hizouse!

Weezer - Pork and Beans

Could be another "classic" tune by "The Weez". I got some emotional chills when the chorus kicks in. Do you recognize the viral videos it's homaging (is that even a word)? Type "Chocolate Rain", "Mentos Diet Coke", "Chris Crocker", etc... into YouTube if you want to see some of the original "viral" videos... or just look up the most popular on YouTube. It's very "meta"... I hear that word a lot these days.
Also, I still believe that Weezer puts on stage costumes of "slackers" when they perform and in their videos. Wouldn't that be funny. I wish I was a writer so I could put that in a book. A band the dresses nerdy to sell records and appeal to the kids but in real life they wear "normal people" clothes. Did I ever put up their video with animals? I do like Weezer but I always think the lead singer is a little creepy. Best "summer song" so far? Hrrm. Whadayouthink?
Dads and Grads is in the hizouse!

Ira Glass

Boy was I wrong about how Ira Glass looked. I've seen two episodes of the TV "This American Life" and he is actually "un-gay". I would have never mistaken him for "maybe-gay" if I saw him on video. That show is really great. I really like him and I like him more for what he says about The Howard Stern Show on this interview at TIME
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1806795,00.html
You can "subscribe" in iTunes to hear the 15 minute interview with him... or download it... or stream it on the webpage. He mentions Radio Lab which I think is the show you mentioned last time. I'll have to listen to it. I've really come to love Howard Stern's show. I've never laughed harder (or been more grossed out) or been more amazed with the amount of funny.

I like Ira Glass the more that I see (or hear) him.

The Beatles - Don't Let Me Down

There is no better band in the history of music than the Beatles... period. As it's stated in the bible, "You will not get into Heaven if you don't know every single Beatles song by heart". There is nothing more important than going and buying all the Beatles albums you can find and listening to them a hundred times each.

There are no songs that are more beautiful, culturally important, enjoyable, and interesting. You must think I'm the biggest dummy and not take my advice or consider me intelligent to not know every single Beatles song by heart. Another year goes by... and still you don't know how great they were. If you had a drug problem wouldn't you criticize me for not trying to help you? Well, you may as well not be alive if you don't understand the Beatles are the greatest band, ever. This is your wake up call. You are missing out.

If you ever get into the Beatles then I'll move on to trying to get you to realize how briz-illiant Prince was in the '80s, then maybe Bob Dylan after that. Just give in... Just give in... you are missing out. If I knew that This American Life would be beneficial to you and you had a poor attitude about the show because some nerds at school liked it... wouldn't you be remiss and horrified if you didn't know about it? Wake-up. Snap out of it. Give in. Give up. John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

Weekly Wrap Up

I thought I'd "Shlog" some of the things I've been doing and thinking about during the week to save for posterity. I don't keep a diary and I like looking back at things I was doing (or annoyed with "having to do").

What I Be Wizatchin': Got Directv turned back on... because now they have HD and I've really missed it. I only watch TV after it gets dark out and I mostly watch educational programming that I'm interested in (usually about animals). It actually makes me happy and enthusiastic about learning and life. Where else can I learn so much about Animals, how things are made and travel to countries I will never have the money to visit. All in HD. HDTV rules, dude. No joke.

The Happy List: I'm trying to list out things that I want to do, how I want to spend my time, and what I should be doing to be happy. It's such a simple idea but I think it works wonders. The Happy List is basically me spending time thinking about what I can do with my life and time to make me hizappy.

What I'm Rizeadin': The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett, Green Lantern Showcase Presents comic collection, Newspaper.

Movies: None, froze Netflix for a while. I'm going to try and watch some of the Indiana Jones Marathon on TV tomorrow night. The first one is really good and I love the second one... the third one kinda sucks IMO (in my opinion).

Enjoyin' Eatin': Cheese sandwiches with a little mayo and sprouts.

Excercise: Trying to make it an everyday thing for 30 minutes to start, then 45 if I loose some yuckiness. I'm also going to invest my time and money a little more in getting exercise. It's a goal. I just don't want to be fat in my middle age.

Animal of the Week: Chimps. I watched a program about a chimp camp that helped abused and unsocial chimps in Africa. They're so cute... and vicious. Ooooo, ooooo, oooo, oooo. Starting to really like Chimpy Babies. Oooooo, Oooooo, Oooooo, Oooooo.

Flight Of The Conchords - Most Beautiful Girl in the Room

This cracks me up. I really loved this show. I think this is so funny. It's kinda a Prince spoof and it cracks me up everytime I see it. I think you'd really love these guys. They're really funny and have some super classic bits. They won a grammy and they've got a second season coming soon. You should really rent their show when you've got space in your queue.

This American Life

I saw an episode of TAM life last night and really liked it. The show is really good. It was in HD and looked fantastic!

The stories always stick with me for years. I find I get really emotional and connected with the stories. There was a story about an Iraqi guy that put a stand to "Ask an Iraqi". Did they show that story at the live show? It always makes me tear up. Does it make you emotional? Maybe it's because it has stories that are so true and real. The stories are always so surprising and unexpected. They do such a great job. I love that it's uncensored. I'll try and watch more. Sometimes even the most simple stories have so much truth and beauty to them.

Scandal - Goodbye To You

This is one of my favorite 80s songs. I'm really diggin' the matching panty hose, mini skirt and heels (and lipstick). I always hated that weird girl's haircut that the "chicks" had in the 80's. I bet she's really a mess now and probably looks like Elizabeth Taylor. Some women don't age well and I bet the singer is really messed up from smokin', drinkin', and drugs.

Another One Bites The Dust - Queen

A rollerskating rink classic. This is one of those songs that have survived the years and is still super cool. How bizarre is Freddie Mercury? He's such a great lead singer. I don't know of any other rock and roll singer who so successfully wears a mustache. He's one of the greatest and flamboyant rock singers.

Check out those jeans! You'll have to get an outfit like that. Bright yellow tank top, super-denim jeans, white tennis shoes and a sweat band. Does that hat have lightning bolts? I think he's satirizing the hetero-male fashions of the time.

History of Video Games

Kinda interesting. The song sucks so turn the volume down.

The Facts of Life - Season 2 Open

Power Station - Get It On (Bang A Gong)

Culture Club - I'll Tumble 4 Ya

Head Over Heels - Go-Go's

One of my favorite songs... ever! I used to listen to this every morning before school. I'd make scrambled eggs in the microwave and ate them as we drove from Hudson, WI into Mpls. every morning to finish my 4th grade year. My favorite bass line and "break down" in a song. It's so funky with that bum, dee, da, da, da... da, da, ba, da, da, da, snap, bum, de, da, da, da, bum, bum, de, da da, SNAP!

Ready for the World - Love You Down

I remember thinking this was a romantic song and the chicks would love a guy singing it to them. It's one of the romantic songs I remember from "back in the day". Do you remember it? This is the type of song that you don't understand when you are young but when you get older you realize it's about getting some hot dirty sex. You'd never say these things to a girl! She'd probably have you locked up.

Dream of Farm Kittens

I had a beautiful dream about going to a farm breakfast restaurant and there were farm kittens (and other farm animals) all over the place. I got to sit down on the grass and play with the kittens before breakfast and was going to take one home with me. I ate breakfast and decided to "stay on" at the farm and work by making breakfast and staying in a room. Now I could keep all the kittens and they could live in the barn. I would live out the rest of my life makin' breakfasts in the morning, feeding the 'nimals, and pettin' kitties on the farm. It was a farm down south so there was no winter.

I often daydream about moving to a little small town with kittens everywhere. Living in a little tiny house "away from it all". I'd get the mornin' newspaper and make a weekly trip into town in an old pick-up truck. I wouldn't actually "farm" anything but I think that it's a life I'd be more willing to live as a I get older. I don't like the hussle and bustle of the city very much.
